The Youth Ministry Division at United T.E.A.M. Initiatives is a faith-based program supporting at-risk youth in Spartanburg County. We provide a safe space for weekly gatherings where young people can grow, learn, and connect. Each session includes meaningful discussions on topics like peer pressure and conflict resolution, along with inspiring guest speakers and a warm meal.
In addition to weekly meetings, we host bi-monthly outings and offer one-on-one mentorship to empower youth with life skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Your support helps us create a community where these young individuals can thrive and build brighter futures.
The L.D. Barksdale Sickle Cell Foundation has been a cornerstone of support for individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease in South Carolina. The foundation offers vital services such as free testing, education, financial assistance, and patient advocacy. These programs aim to enhance healthcare access and improve the quality of life for those living with this challenging condition.
Through community outreach, support groups, and tailored assistance, the foundation empowers patients to navigate the complexities of sickle cell disease with confidence and hope. United T.E.A.M Initiatives
At United T.E.A.M. (Teaching Everyone About Miraculous) Initiatives, a 501c3 non-profit organization, we are on a mission to transform the lives of at-risk youth in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dedicated to reducing youth recidivism, violence, and bullying, we create safe spaces where adolescents can build confidence, learn new skills, and achieve their goals.
Through group mentoring, one-on-one support, and connections with positive role models, our ministry program fosters hope and growth. As we expand into schools and juvenile detention centers, we invite you to join us in changing futures for our youth.
Our Programs
Our ministry program provides a supportive, nurturing environment where at-risk youth can grow and thrive. We offer weekly meetings with transportation, dinner, and engaging sessions led by speakers and mentors who cover essential topics like decision-making and life skills. Through guidance and encouragement, we help youth build confidence, make positive choices, and prepare for adulthood.
Our juvenile detention program is designed to support incarcerated youth by addressing the mental health challenges and trauma associated with detention. Over 6 to 8 weeks, we provide tailored therapy, mentoring, and educational resources to help them heal, grow, and prepare for reintegration into society. By focusing on mental well-being and rehabilitation, we aim to break the cycle of recidivism and create opportunities for brighter futures.
Our school program focuses on addressing student mental health, bullying, and learning challenges. We work alongside educators to implement a curriculum centered on stress management, emotional resilience, and pre-adult readiness. By identifying students who need extra support, we help connect them with much needed resources. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.
